Upgrading Nairm Marr Djambana

An elected Albanese Labor Government will upgrade Nairm Marr Djambana, a culturally-safe gathering place in Frankston that supports the area’s growing First Nations community.

Partnering with other levels of government, Labor’s investment of $850,000 will replace the portable buildings with a permanent fit-for-purpose neighbourhood house and gathering place.

The upgrades will provide the First Nations community with a culturally safe and accessible space to celebrate culture and support the increasing demand for local services to address ongoing disadvantages.

This announcement acknowledges that Frankston LGA has one of the fastest growing First Nations populations in Victoria and is a commitment to partner with the local community to meet future demands.

The upgrade of the buildings is part of Nairm Marr Djambana’s Master Plan which also includes upgrades to landscaping.

Nairm Marr Djambana’s vision is to achieve positive health and wellbeing outcomes for First Nations people.
